Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Sable, a pale Or, overall on a lozenge with axis fesswise Argent a taro plant Vert. Attached at the sides and below the shield a Green scroll doubled and inscribed "VICTORY PAYMASTERS" in Silver.

Symbolism
Golden yellow/gold stands for excellence; black symbolizes strength and resolve and alludes to financial security. The lozenge simulates the Finance Corps insignia of branch; it is white suggesting integrity. The pale represents continuity and dependability. Association with the 24th Infantry Division is implied by the taro plant, a leaf of which is used as the Division shoulder sleeve insignia.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 21 April 1993.
